Gone Fishing February 22, 2006
Posted by Martin in : Health & Sport, Thailand , add a commentA group of Thailand’s gemology elite spent a full day out on the outskirts of Bangkok at a fishing lake. This lake is man-made and is full of catfish. This was the second occasion I’ve been fishing – the first was a year ago in Koh Si Chang. This time we had two private fishing huts between our group of six and we were taking this sport seriously.
Another Thai Language Warning February 21, 2006

The phrase “add more milk” and “shake your boobs” are deceptively similar.
“Sai nom”  = Pour in some milk
“Saai nom” = Shake your boobs
… fortunately Tik was with me to persuade the waitress my intentions were honorable.

A Potshot at The Third Gender February 17, 2006
Posted by Martin in : Thailand , add a commentCuriosity got the better of Barry and I today. After a nostalgic visit to Nana Plaza and finding ourselves extremely unimpressed with the quality of the eye-candy, we took an adventurous mosey into the ladyboy bar in the back corner of the building.
The contrast here was markedly different from the girly bars and I’m not shy to admit that ladyboy bars are much better places to visit. The she-males, birls, ladyboys, katoeys (or whatever you choose to call them) are far happier, more confident, cheekier and more enthusiastic than their natural counterparts. They were not there to hassle the guests and all were suitably polite when we explained that no we were not looking for a novel horizontal experience or to admire their plumbing.
Valentines Day February 14, 2006
Posted by Martin in : Uncategorized , add a commentThe downside to being in a relationship with Tik is that her birthday is in January, Valentines day is February and our anniversary is in March. For Valentines day this year we went out to a riverside restaurant for dinner and I bought her a new diamond necklace as a combined gift for all three occasions.
