A Creative week May 23, 2005

I had had 3 days of insomnia. I’ve tried exercising, I’ve tried hypnotherapy, hot milk, hot baths, talking to telecom consultants about business but nothing is putting my brain to sleep.

I feel like I have lost my entire left hemisphere this week. I can’t do any housekeeping duties or logical stuff. It’s taken two days to do some very minor admin work which on a good day could be finished in two hours. My office is a mess because I’ve not even noticed where I’ve taken clothes off, or left half-empty mugs or dirty plates. Some hours I’m barely able to stand up, I’ve yawned more than I’ve breathed yet my right hemisphere is in overdrive and I’m churning out marketing ideas, business ideas, answers to unsolvable problems non-stop!

The last two nights I’ve been in bed at midnight but back up again by 2, realizing I was bored of merely dreaming about being asleep. I’ve worked intensively (but unproductively) until about 7am and had a 3-4 hour nap. It’s now 2:30 a.m. and I am wide awake.

Cash is flying from my bank as if I’d filled it with prune juice but things are moving, and fast! I’m energized because a solution to my cash-flow problems is in hand and I’ve registered my 3rd domain name in 2 days. It’s sadly one of those spend-money-to-make-money situations but I am kind of used to that. I see a way of recouping my investment, whether things go to plan or not.

I’m not going to give details yet until the site is up and running (I hope within 10 days) but I’ve registered Codernow.com through Cablan. This will not be a huge site but it will work and I intend to use it to pay back my set-up fees and to then fund the incredibly exciting youdocare.com and youdocare.co.uk project.

The problem is, I know exactly what I want, but I’m not really awake enough to write a project description to put out to tender. I’d like to be able to sleep on it so that I’ll awake full of productivity, but I’m not so sure that’s going to happen.
