Brunel - James Bond’s University September 7, 2005
Posted by Martin in : Education , trackbackI graduated from Brunel University in North West London. I got a lot from my course and really enojoyed life there.
I chose to study at Brunel largely because I wanted to study business yet I really didn’t want a typical ‘Business Studies course’ and Brunel offered an interesting ‘Management Science’ degree.
It’s a little sad that Brunel doesn’t get much recognition internationally and these days I just tell people I studied in London if they ask me, but Brunel has got a lot of publicity on BBC news for the intuitiveness of their Engineers. It seems Like Brunel’s real claim to fame lies in it’s students contributions to life’s most fundamental necessities;
A pedometer shoe which will only activate the TV if the wearer has taken enough exercise.
Swimming goggles with LCD display to monitor the number of lengths swam
‘Intelligent’ Clothes Pegs’ which refuse to open if it’s likely to rain
Now if only the engineers could have taken some time away to talk to us management academics then I’m certain we could have prevented this ‘wallace-and-gromit’ culture from ever have wasted our public resources.
