Getting Famous July 17, 2006

I’ve begun to distribute ‘ezine’ articles all over the place. These are short articles aimed to provide information to the general public. The hidden motive behind this is that the writer is always trying to sell something, whether its a product, a service or something less direct such as their brand image.
Being the opportunist I am, I’m trying to build up some credibility for anything I can write about as long as there’s an affiliate product or website I can profit from.
Do some searches and you’re sure to find my opinion and advice about any topic you can imagine.

Posted by Martin in : Computers , 1 comment so farI wasted an hour today installing ‘iListen’ on my computer. This was my first experience of voice recognition software and considering the technology is about 10 years old now and that computers have gotten much more powerful I was really excited to try it out.
After a pointless hour trying to get the damn program to correctly hear the words ‘The’ and ‘I’ I was informed that everything was configured perfectly.
Here’s my test …
Future Business Plans April 1, 2006
Posted by Martin in : Business, Computers, Websites , add a commentI get spurts of creativity all the time and act on impulse on most of them. Most ideas are half-baked and never really rise. I generally get as far as stirring the ingredients but I’m quite comfortable with the way things are progressing.
Last month I conducted a feasibility study to get an apple Macintosh application created to emulate the fantastic AI Roboform program for Windows but decided that the necessity of making regular updates would be more effort than I’m prepared to make.
I looked into creating a website to detail investment opportunities, news and strategies but this really is nothing new and would also take a huge amount of my time to update. I no longer feel comfortable making high-risk high-potential opportunities to people who are in a very different financial position to me. If they plough too much of their savings into just one or two companies which dies or underperforms I know I’ll feel guilty.

Posted by Martin in : Computers, Education , add a commentI’ve been getting familair with my new 15” Powerbook G4 for the last few weeks.
I was encouraged to switch over from my hard-working and long-serving Windows PC to improve my efficiency. Twelve months ago I was frustrated that my work was slowed by my stupidly slothful internet connection and got myself an ADSL line as soon as it became available. More recently I’d been moaning to friends that much of my time was being spent having to use the task manager to close down unresponsive programs, and I was in need of a change.
I Love Skype July 8, 2005
Posted by Martin in : Computers , add a commentI have fallen in love with Skype.
Skype is a messenger program similar to Microsoft Messenger or Yahoo Messenger however it is designed especially for voice calls. You can use it with your PC microphone and Speakers or with a computer telephone.
I am so impressed by the call quality that I’ve disconnected my land-line phone and have Skype connected all the time. I have now got a SkypeIn number which gives me a UK 0207 telephone number my friends can call and it will connect directly through to my Skype account. The service also includes free voicemail too.
Skype-to-Skype phone calls are completely free and Skype-to-telephone calls are cheaper than any service I can offer.
The telecom market is going to face an inevitable shakeup and these free services are going to impact everybody.
Make the most of it; get a Skype account and we can chat for free.
