Getting Used to Our Engagement Rings March 18, 2006
Posted by Martin in : Thailand , trackbackI’ve never worn any jewelry before so placing an engagement on my finger felt quite unnatural. I kept rotating it around, sliding it up and down and feeling a little tense when it got stuck at my knuckle. I mentally prepared for having it on my finger permanently by considering it a more of a potential weapon than a symbolic finger-cuff. Tik embraced her ring like it was a new toy. Every opportunity she had I noticed her moving her hand around to look for the flashes of light.
I presented the ring quite unceremoniously to Tik at our favorite restaurant in Khon Kaen when I flew up for the weekend. On the Saturday we took Tik’s family to a typical ‘Wedding Studio’ that specializes in pre-wedding photographs. It took some time but after a lot of strained poses we succeeded in having about 31 pictures taken. Tik has chosen her favorites and we will be able to collect them at the end of the month.
