Recovering in Bangkok April 23, 2006
Posted by Martin in : Thailand , trackbackWe left Koh Tao to return to Bangkok for the last few days of Lisa’s holiday. This was her time to shop and my time to sleep.
We had a well-deserved and much-needed night in so give us all enough energy so that we could sleep more of Friday. I was delighted to be able to leave Tik to organize Lisa’s shopping expeditions as I familiarized myself with my good old comfy sofa again.
On Friday Lisa, Tik and I met up with some friends at Suan Lum Night Bazaar. Whilst Lisa and Tik went shopping at the market I relaxed at the food court.
Lisa was keen to get to see a pussy show although the one we went to was the most boring one I’ve ever seen. I’d hate to consider myself a veteran of all things pussy-related but yes I’ve seen a number of shows and this was the first that induced me to yawn throughout it. We did not stay for long but we helped Lisa to buy probably 120 DVD’s for the remainder of the night.
Lisa and Tik visited Chatuchak weekend market on the Saturday. I was happy to stay home, and seeing Lisa drenched in persipration on her return I knew I’d made the sensible choice. That evening we took Lisa to my favourite French creperie and visited a Ladyboy Cabaret at the Asia Hotel.
The cabaret itself was incredibly naff although it was harmless fun and quite relaxing. Of note was the Michael Jackson and Tina Turner number where the third gender really felt appropriate. We managed a few photos of the ladyboys for our scrapbooks.
After that we headed to Sirocco bar for a few relaxing cocktails and a view of Bangkok’s Skyline.
