Tik and I just returned to the airport to discover that 10 tanks have surrounded the government house in Bangkok.

Looks like this is the military coup that’s been whispered about for the last few weeks.

All the Thai TV channels are showing stock footage of the King, childrens paintings and soothing music. Fortunately we have CNN so we are keeking glued to that.

From what I’ve heard the military leader has just been fired, although I guess thats 10 tanks too late to really be effective.

Neither Tik nor I are worried, the government has been volatile for a while and probably a few weeks might bring some more stability to the country. I’m staying here whatever happens.
